Employer Apprenticeship Dinner
Description: An event to recognize employers who promote apprenticeship and have gone above and beyond in hiring/training apprentices. 200 employers were recognized for their contribution to offering training and apprenticeships locally.
Status: Event held October 2002 – second event held March 2004

Community Employment Support Expo
Description: A one-day networking and information exchange event where local employment service providers set up information booths and provided short information sessions on the clients they serve and the services they offer. Also provided an opportunity for the public to learn about programs and services available to them. 48 agencies participated with 13 presentations and approximately 400 visitors.
Status: Completed March 2003
Partners: Waterloo Wellington Training and Adjustment Board (project lead), Regional Municipality of Waterloo, United Way - Cambridge; United Way - Kitchener/Waterloo; community employment service providers

Transportation & Warehousing Career Fair Description: 15 employers/trainers participated by having display booths. Approx 100 members of the public attended during the day. The event contributed to increased awareness of current training and career opportunities

Partners: Waterloo Wellington Training and Adjustment Board (Project lead), Canadian Automotive Training Institute, Tri-County Truck Driving School and various transportation industry employers

Wellington County Agency Fair
Description: A networking and information exchange event where Wellington-based employment service providers set up information booths and front line staff had an opportunty to learn about other local programs and meet their peers

Visible/Racial Minorities Planning Conference
Description: A one day event to discuss workforce development issues/concerns with representatives from the visible minority communities across South Western Ontario

Skilled Trades Awareness Day Description: This event highlighted careers in the skilled trades to Grade 10 Careers Studies students. WWTAB sponsored the initial event in 2003 which included over 30 journey-persons offering displays and round table discussions to over 1300 students
